Who we are:
The Trip Noronha company was established in 2006 by Pedro Paulo Capelossi as an extension of his loves for diving, travelling and showing people the best parts of his home. Pedro is originally from São Paulo and graduated with a degree in advertising and worked for more than 10 years as an art director before he followed his true dream of becoming a dive instructor. In 2002 he moved to Fernando de Noronha Island (a beautiful place famous for its diving) to pursue his passion and also had the opportunity to explore the northeast Brazilian coastline; he fell in love with it! Pedro has successfully completed over 5,000 dives as a certified dive instructor and has shared his knowledge and experience with over 20,000 other divers keen to see the ocean floor.
Pedro has been crucial in the development of new diving sites in the Fernando de Noronha area, which have enabled the recuperation of existing sites. According to local environmental agencies, these measures have already had a positive impact on the ecosystem.
What we do for our destination:
Porto de Galinhas receives about 300,000 tourists a year and has been voted the best Brazilian beach for the last 9 years consecutively by Viagem e Turismo Magazine. As of now, this beach mainly consists of accommodations that are not concerned about their sustainability towards the environment or local people. For this reason, Trip Noronha has hand-picked partners that are taking measures to enhance the responsible tourism available in the form of recycling, solar energy systems, hiring local people along with dispensing education about the local culture to their guests. We are also promoting our vision of sustainable tourism to influence other accommodations and tour providers to move in this more ecologically conscious direction.
